Peer Review of Articles
Stage 1Receipt and technical check
1
All submitted articles undergo peer review.
2
Articles submitted for publication must be formatted in accordance with the Manuscript Submission Guidelines.
3
Upon receipt, the editorial office checks each article for compliance with the manuscript file requirements. If the submitted materials do not meet the technical requirements, the article is not accepted for review, and the author is sent a letter stating the reasons for rejection. Once the editorial office’s comments have been addressed, the article may be resubmitted for publication.
4
An article received by the editorial office and accepted for review is registered, and the author is sent a letter confirming that the article has been accepted for review.
Stage 2Editorial assessment
5
An article accepted for review undergoes an editorial assessment to verify compliance with the formal requirements set by the editorial office for scientific articles, based on the following mandatory criteria:
- ✓the topic of the article corresponds to the journal’s thematic scope declared for publication;
- ✓the title of the article corresponds to its content;
- ✓the article contains conclusions;
- ✓the article contains a reference list, with in-text citations to the sources it includes.
6
If the topic of the article does not correspond to the journal’s thematic scope, or if its text is deemed to be of low quality and not to meet the requirements for scientific articles, the article is withdrawn from further review and the author is sent a corresponding letter.
7
All articles accepted for review are checked using the “Antiplagiat” system. The originality of the text must be at least 70%.
Stage 3Scientific review
8
Based on the results of the editorial assessment, the executive secretary submits proposals to the editor-in-chief on referring the article to reviewers who are specialists on the subject of the article under review.
9
An article that has passed the formal editorial assessment is sent to reviewers (by agreement) for scientific review through the online system of the journal’s website.
10
The reviewer submits the review to the editorial office using the form provided by the editorial office.
Stage 4Editorial decision
11
Based on the reviewers’ comments, the editorial office makes one of the following decisions:
✓to accept the article for publication
↻to send the article for additional review
✎to send the author recommendations for revising the article in accordance with the reviewers’ comments
✕to reject the article for publication
The final decision on publishing an article with conflicting reviews is made by the journal’s editor-in-chief.
If an article requires revision, the author is sent the relevant recommendations of the reviewers and/or the editorial office. Returning an article for revision does not mean it has been accepted for publication. Once revised, the article may be resubmitted for publication. A revised article undergoes editorial and scientific assessment again.
12
If an article is rejected for publication, the editorial office sends the author a substantiated refusal.
◷
13. The review period for an article (verification of compliance with formal rules, editorial assessment, scientific assessment) is up to 30 days.
Publication of Articles
1
An article accepted for publication is placed in the publication queue.
2
The publication period for an article ranges from one to three months, depending on the subject of the article and the total number of articles in the publication queue. This period does not include the time required for editorial and scientific assessment.
